G’day everyone. Well our frequent updates aren’t really happening... we are both lazy and having too good a time.

Anyways here is what we have been up to since our last update… we found an awesome campsite hidden in the sand dunes just out of Cape Le Grand National Park. It was an awesome spot with a good beach and it was free! Here are a few photos we got at that spot.

After a free night of camping we headed into Cape Le Grand National Park to spend the day and camp the night. While in the National Park we climbed Frenchman Peak and did some fishing which managed to get us 5 massive squid – a great feed for lunch. That night after climbing Frenchman we got on the beers and met a few different groups of fellow road trippers, some local and some international. A good night! During the night we also witnessed something extremely strange… a kangaroo licking blood off the road and eating a dead goanna – we weren’t expecting shit to get weird till we got up north. Here are few photos of our time in Cape Le Grand.

After a night of paid camping we headed back to our little campsite in the dunes just out of the National Park for the night then headed into Esperance for Sherm’s birthday to stay in a temporary caravan park set up at one of the local ovals. By 1pm we had downed a bottle of Jager and a carton of beer and got stuck into a bottle of vodka – a bit of luxury for our mate’s 21st. We were absolutely legless by dark and none of us really know too much about what happened but we found a pub that was open and made a couple of eventful trips to Macca’s on the way there and back in the cold wet weather.

The day that followed wasn’t much different for Skeat and Fussy as they woke up with a thirst for goon… Named pest 1 and pest 2 they drank all the way west as we received a tip from a local girl in a servo when asked how her easter is she said:”I’d rather be at Bremer Bay.” So that’s where driver 1, driver 2, pest 1 and pest 2 went for the night where we made a few friends and got blind at the local.
Headed off the next day for Albany and after passing through what is a pretty big town we started looking on the map for free campsites and found one at Cosy Corner where after setting up camp a couple of kids came up to us with a goat they had found, Gilbert quickly made friends…

The next day involved a lot of R&R after being woken up early in the morning by distressed goats. A bit of fishing, caught plenty of Australian Herring. The next day we headed for a place called Port Hughes on the map, but had no sign so unfortunately no picture here. Spent the rest of the day doing some washing and stocking up on supplies before heading off into the dark night again to find a free campsite – we are getting good at this. However we awoke to find our swags had been rolled out about 10 meters from a no camping sign. We ventured down onto the beach to finish stage two of our washing a day late which involved some stinky clothes – but we’re used to that by now.
Have since packed them up and are in Albany at a backpackers using their internet and will be out of here again soon to somewhere new!
